PokeCompass is a free, fan-made map of the Pokémon world. There is no account to create, no third-party ads, and nothing to buy. The short version: your Pokédex progress never leaves your own browser, and the only information we receive is anonymous traffic measurement.
Everything you track is stored in your browser's local storage on the device you are using. That includes:
This is never transmitted to us and we cannot see it. It is not backed up and it does not sync between devices, so clearing your browser data for this site will permanently erase your progress.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see what content you view. To do this, Google sets cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and receives your IP address, from which it derives an approximate location. We use this only in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with anything else.
Google processes this data as described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent it with a browser that blocks trackers, an ad or script blocker, or Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking it does not affect how the site works.
Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps and browser user-agent strings. These exist for security and diagnosing faults, and are not used to build profiles.
PokeCompass is a general-audience site and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on the site.
